Highway Bribery

After an afternoon of dishes, laundry, window washing, cleaning, and a mild headache, 2 boys requested a peanut butter and jelly sandwich--1 hour before dinner.  In a moment of exasperation, this mother reached an all-time low:

The Crowd:  Pleeeeaaaassse Mom?  Please can we have a sandwich?!?  Peanut butter and jelly! Yay!  Please?

Mom:  (realizing any attempts to fight at this moment would be futile)  Kolbe--I'll give you a quarter if you make your brothers a sandwich.

Kolbe:  What do you mean "a quarter"?

Mom:  You know, twenty-five cents?

Kolbe:  Okay!

Situation resolved.

Birthday Mystery

Can you guess who's birthday we celebrated yesterday?

- pizza from Pizza Hut
- cake with chocolate frosting and a strawberry cheesecake
- gifts including-  Star Wars t-shirt, Star Wars book, Dr. Suess story collection & Super Mario Bros. for the Wii
- a trip to the bowling alley

The mystery person just turned "31".  We joked about the fact that his party incorporated elements any 8-year-old boy would be proud of.  When your party consists of 4 boys under 8, you've gotta play to the crowd, I guess.  :)  We had a great time celebrating like a bunch of kids.
